Fase 01 · The project

A monitoring system for pig farms, designed for the acquisition of environmental and operational data on farms. It allows for the monitoring of key variables such as temperature, humidity, CO₂, NH₃, and water consumption, using a network of wireless nodes connected to a 4G gateway.

Its primary value lies in the combination of independent energy, LoRa communications, and a robust architecture, allowing the system to be deployed flexibly, even in environments without complex electrical infrastructure.

Fase 02 · The challenge

Reliable monitoring in agricultural environments

The project’s objective was to develop a system capable of monitoring key variables in pig farms, including temperature, humidity, CO₂, NH₃, and water consumption.

The solution needed to function under demanding conditions, allowing for direct installation in the animal rooms and ensuring continuous operation without relying on complex infrastructure.

Fase 03 · Development

Autonomous and robust IoT architecture.

The system was designed using data acquisition nodes powered by lithium batteries, with an estimated autonomy of between one and two years. The devices were developed to operate in harsh environments thanks to their mechanical robustness and a high level of IP protection.

Communication between nodes is achieved using LoRa technology, which connects to an integrated 4G gateway. This gateway centralizes the information and transmits it to the management system. The gateway can operate connected to a power network or via batteries or solar panels, enabling deployment in various operating configurations.

Fase 04 · Final product

Continuous monitoring for pig farms

The result is an autonomous monitoring system capable of continuously acquiring and transmitting environmental and operational data within the livestock facilities.

The solution combines environmental sensors, long-range wireless communication, and multiple power options, enabling it to adapt to various farms and facilitating real-time monitoring of environmental conditions and water consumption.
