How it was done, step by step.

It’s continuing to decrease: the block remains on screen, and the project progresses phase by phase, with the actual work carried out by i-mas in each phase.

Fase 01 · The project

Fabriqer is cloud-based software, developed by i-mas, that automates the generation of machining budgets. Using a 3D file of the part (STEP, STP, SLDPRT, CATPART…), it analyzes the geometry, suggests the initial material, calculates its cost, and estimates the machining time using artificial intelligence.

The workshop sends the part – or simply forwards their client’s email – and within seconds receives a professional PDF quote with their own branding, ready to send. And the more it’s used, the more it learns: the quote is refined with every quote the workshop generates.

Fabriqer was born from the real experience of i-mas and Proto&Go! in CNC machining and the production of custom parts – a tool created by people who work in workshops, for people who work in workshops.

Fase 02 · The challenge

Offering hours, not days, without risking profit.

In a machining workshop, the budget is a critical process: most buyers expect an offer within 24 hours, and the estimated machining time determines whether a job will be won or lost. Calculating the tooling and material is the easy part; the machining time is the difficult and risky aspect.

Fabriqer’s challenge was to automate the entire process: reading the part in 3D, assessing the material, and accurately estimating machining time, so that the workshop could respond faster than its competitors, without losing control over every quotation.

Fase 03 · Development

AI that learns from its own workshop.

Fabriqer automatically analyzes the 3D file, extracting the gross and final weight of the part, suggests a starting point, and calculates the material cost. Based on this, an artificial intelligence engine estimates the machining time and refines its predictions using the quotations generated by the workshop itself.

The platform incorporates a built-in 3D viewer, customizable materials, finishes, and production phases, a CRM for tracking clients and generating final offers in PDF format, including images of the workshop. Furthermore, it allows for direct quoting directly from the client’s email: simply resend the email, and Fabriqer will download the parts, read the drawings, and assign materials and quantities.

Fase 04 · Final product

From the customer’s email to the offer sent.

The result is a tool that transforms a process that takes hours into a workflow of minutes: uploading the piece – or resending the email –, reviewing the proposal, and sending the offer. Consistent, traceable budgets, with the image of each workshop, generated in a fraction of the usual time.

Fabriqer adapts to every business: the more it’s used, the more it resembles your workshop. The history of quotes fuels time estimations, accuracy improves week after week, and the budgeter’s knowledge is embedded within the tool.
