Design and development of a silencer for a hair dryer with the aim of reducing the noise emitted in the air flow inlet. With the design and development of the new application, the whole assembly achieves a reduction of 3.5 dB compared to the previous model. Therefore, the new design significantly reduces the inconvenience to the end user.
For this project, a study of the market, tendencies, analysis of the competition and definition of specifications, as well as the conceptual and aesthetic design have been carried out. For the development of the product, it was essential to create fully functional prototypes in order to test the noise of the new design and ensure noise reduction.
