They are playing an increasingly important role in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/i-mas.com\/en\/10-critical-mistakes-that-can-ruin-hardware-product-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">product development<\/a><\/strong>, where they enable companies to validate, optimize, and make decisions before building a single <strong>prototype<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In a context where reducing time, costs, and risks is key, digital twins are becoming one of the most influential tools in industrial design and new product development. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is a digital twin, and how does it work?<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n<p>A digital twin is a <strong>virtual replica of a physical product<\/strong>. Unlike a conventional<strong> 3D model<\/strong>, it represents not only the product\u2019s geometry, but also its behavior, performance, and evolution over time.  <\/p>\n\n<p>While a traditional CAD model allows you to visualize the shape of a part or assembly, a<strong> digital twin<\/strong> incorporates much more complex information.
